To wear a swimsuit

My body type is hardly similar to the ones seen donning two-piece suits in catwalks.

I find my abdomen flabby. I also look at myself and gripe how my upper arms are too wide.

My skin type is hardly perfect, too.

I have blackened coin-sized scars on my leg. My calves are wide. I have bowed legs. I have stretchmarks and cellulite elsewhere.

This is the image i see in the mirror. Because of it, i haven't worn a swimsuit for a long time now.

I know how to swim. I love to swim. I want to break free from the shirt-and-shorts swim getup. My body may not be great to look at, but i just know i shouldn't care.

Time is ripe for me to face my fear.

This shall then be my first challenge: to wear a swimsuit to the beach or a pool for at least two times.

I'm a 22 year old woman who cannot claim that she has lived her 22 years the way she needed and the way she wanted.

I shall post a challenge for myself to accomplish within two weeks. These challenges may range from something very mundane (like flirt with a crush) or very serious (like finding a job).

Most of my entries will be logs of my attempt or my quest for fulfilling the challenge.

Why did I have to write this all in an online journal? Well, just for the simple fact that this feels more official, more urgent.
